Thomas Mann, Olivia Cooke, & RJ Cyler—Me and Earl and the Dying Girl—6/5/2015

Thomas Mann's film credits include Project X, Welcome to Me, Beautiful Creatures, Fun Size, It's Kind of a Funny Story, and the upcoming The Stanford Prison Experiment, among many others. Now he's the "Me" in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, opposite first-time feature performer RJ Cyler as Earl and Olivia Cooke as "the Dying Girl." Cooke is best known as Emma Decody on A&E's Bates Motel, though she has also racked up feature credits like The Signal, Ouija, and The Quiet Ones. I spoke with the talented trio at San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel, where they discussed their research, the meaning of the film, and "popsicle continuity," as well as gamely doing an exercise requiring them to describe each other.
